Yoga & its apparel

Everyone who has practiced yoga has eventually invested in one or two good quality feel-good yoga pants, a basic non sticky yoga mat and/or couple of blocks, maybe even a strap. One thing is for sure, we can all agree that our stretch classes look a lot more stylish today than it did 5 years ago.

Up until sometime back, I purchased most of my yoga clothes in Canada or online. Recently I was thrilled to make a discovery- there was a shop in Dubai that hosted heaps of trendy yoga brands including my personal fav dharma bums!! I was so excited, more so to share it with all my yoga lover friends who by now just assumed all my clothes were from Canada, lol.

Yapparel has something for everyone, from brands of dharma bums, divine goddess to spiritual gangster to women’s clothing including lifestyle, maternity & yoga gear to men’s apparel to fancy yoga mats. You name it, this super yoga store has it all. They celebrated their two year anniversary 3 days back and are proud of their mission – to make you happy, to feel good inside and out! How lovely is that 🙂 They also offer free community yoga classes once in a while as a way of giving back. I taught a session in-store last Friday in-store and it was so much fun.

It’s not about stocking your wardrobe with as many clothes as you can. Just a couple so you can stay motivated to get yourself out there, be active and care for yourself.  Take a look around , you will notice people in their gym/yoga apparel  grocery shopping in the malls, leaving from work changed into their yoga gear, mums dropping off their kids at school etc. It just goes to show how many people are really enthusiastic about fitting in their fitness & heath regimes irrespective of their hectic day! Having said this, at the end of the day, whatever you wear must make you feel alive, irrespective of the brand, colors, texture and style. Let your light inside shine through 🙂
