The importance of a daily home practice

Why is it important to maintain a home practice. There are so many reason for this. I’ll highlight just a few and see if it rings a bell.

  1. Light bulb moment – I think some of the best most inspiring ideas come to most people when they are absolutely in a relaxed state aka shavasana 😉 When your body has moved at your pace and you give the body a chance to then rest; thats when creativity flows at its best. Perhaps a business idea or a solution to a tricky problem or some thing of such nature. If nothing all, who doesn’t enjoy a good shavasana !
  2. Leave the EGO behind- We generally head onto a class and start our practice with the greatest purest of intentions. However someway down the line, something happens and the ego mind forces you to get that leg higher up than that of your neighbors’. You push beyond safe boundaries to show off and please the ego. With a home practice, you practice for the love of practicing. There is no goal  and no attachment and definitely no ego-mind to distract you for your initial intention.

I think we can work with these for now. And as you all know, I’m all about the practice, not so much about the lecture and theory so lets get down to it straight away.

So Enjoy and keep up the practice.
